About the Journal
The HumTec Working Papers present ongoing work and findings from researchers associated with the Human Technology Centre (HumTec) at RWTH Aachen University. The focus is on interdisciplinary research concerned with knowledge, science and technology. Thus, we are interested in contributions to 'science on (scientific) knowledge' and Science and Technology Studies (STS). We may also accept distantly related papers if these “talk” to the HumTec agenda in one way or the other. All submitted manuscripts undergo an internal peer review (usually two reviewers).
Current Issue
This working paper details recommendations for advancing Open, Responsible Research and Innovation (ORRI) through public policies and research and innovation initiatives. It draws on insights gained from the EU-funded REINFORCING project, which builds upon over a decade of experience in Responsible Research and Innovation and Open Science since their introduction under the previous EU Research and Innovation Programme, Horizon Europe (2014–2020). The paper offers a concise overview of current policy gaps and provides recommendations for strengthening ORRI using both bottom-up and top-down approaches.
